Washington’s effective property tax rate in 2014 was lower than the national average, according to a study released Tuesday by RealtyTrak, a California-based housing research firm.

Washington’s average effective tax rate in 2014 was 1.06 percent, compared to a national average of 1.29 percent, RealtyTrak said.
